OKLAHOMA'S BEST KEPT SECRET THAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT!!!

The Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program (OTAG)

OTAG receives application data from the federal student aid system. As long as the student indicates on their FAFSA that they are from Oklahoma, and they include at least one eligible Oklahoma College in their school choices on their FAFSA, they will automatically have applied for OTAG award consideration. How early students complete their FAFSA can make the difference in receiving an award or not -- we recommend submitting the FAFSA as early as possible after January, and this can be done on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.

OTAG awards are available to Oklahoma residents who are undergraduates attending eligible Oklahoma colleges, universities, and public career technology institutions (list of OTAG eligible schools can be found at <http://www.okhighered.org/student-center/financial-aid/otag.shtml>). The maximum annual award you can receive for attendance at a public institution is $1,000 or $1300 if you attend a private non-profit institution. Awards are available for both full-time and part-time enrollments. If you are awarded OTAG, your college financial aid award letter will reflect an award from OTAG.

Additional information regarding scholarships and grants can be researched on our website at <http://www.okhighered.org/student-center/financial-aid/resources.shtml>.

Billions of Dollars in Financial Are Available for Students

Billions of dollars in financial aid for college are up for grabs, and Oklahoma students need to act fast to get their share. Those who delay run the risk of losing free money.

The fastest and easiest way to complete the FAFSA is to fill it out online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The student and his or her parents should first obtain a personal identification number at www.pin.ed.gov. The online FAFSA will enable all required signatures to be made electronically and will shorten the processing time by about three weeks. Paper versions of the FAFSA can be obtained from high school counselors, school financial aid offices, public libraries or by calling 1.800.4.FED.AID.
