HEADY STORIES
I wanted
to invite you all to visit my new site at
www.headyco.com.
It will consist of new heady stories
everyday. Heady Stories are unique in
the sense that every story ends by saying
hello to the title and all titles normally
consist of two words brought together to
make the moment i.e. "Hello Frozen Laughs"
for example. I think most stories are
inspiring and practical. To answer if
the stories are taken from real situations,
no; they're all fiction. I hope you
give
www.headyco.com
a chance to be a part of your
everyday lives. Also, this gives me a
chance to continue to be active in having an
impact on the lives of people all over the
world. Please share the site with all
of your friends. Well, have fun
reading and visit as much as possible.

MESHA
EDWARDS COLEMAN - A JOHN MARSHALL GRADUATE
So said Susie Orbach in
her 1978 classic by that name. She urged women
to give up diets and focus on what desires fat
represented for them. But fat also is a dating
issue.
In a culture that
glorifies thinness, even healthy-weight women
and men worry that the fat on their bodies will
make them less desirable. And with online
dating, looks are sometimes the only thing
people look at in a profile.
McKinney's Mesha
Coleman recently published her first book, A
Big Girl's Blues (BookSurge Publishing,
$13.99), about a woman's journey through the
insecurities related to her weight.
What experiences
have you had with weight and dating? E-mail Leah
at lashafer @girltalk.com

OKLAHOMA'S BEST KEPT SECRET THAT PARENTS NEED TO
KNOW ABOUT!!!
The Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program (OTAG)
OTAG receives application
data from the federal student aid system. As
long as the student indicates on their FAFSA
that they are from Oklahoma, and they
include at least one eligible Oklahoma
College in their school choices on their
FAFSA, they will automatically have applied
for OTAG award consideration. How early
students complete their FAFSA can make the
difference in receiving an award or not
-- we recommend submitting the FAFSA as
early as possible after January, and this
can be done on line at
www.fafsa.ed.gov http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
OTAG awards are available
to Oklahoma residents who are undergraduates
attending eligible Oklahoma colleges,
universities, and public career technology
institutions (list of OTAG eligible schools
can be found at
<http://www.okhighered.org/student-center/financial-aid/otag.shtml>).
The maximum annual award you can receive for
attendance at a public institution is $1,000
or $1300 if you attend a private non-profit
institution. Awards are available for both
full-time and part-time enrollments. If you
are awarded OTAG, your college financial aid
award letter will reflect an award from OTAG.
Additional information
regarding scholarships and grants can be
researched on our website at
<http://www.okhighered.org/student-center/financial-aid/resources.shtml>.
Oklahoma Higher
Learning Access Program (OHLAP)
What
is OHLAP?
OHLAP is a
Oklahoma State funded program that will pay
the college tuition to any college in
the state of Oklahoma for students whose
parents total yearly income is not more than
$50,000.
Who
can apply for OHLAP?
To qualify,
you must be an Oklahoma resident, be a child
in a household that earns $50,000 or less
per year, Graduate from an Oklahoma High
School that is accredited by the State Board
of Education, and be in the 8th, 9th, or
10th grade. For more information visit
http://www.bbisd.org/OHLAP_Info.htm
or

Billions
of Dollars in Financial Are
Available for Students
Billions of dollars
in financial aid for college are up
for grabs, and Oklahoma students
need to act fast to get their share.
Those who delay run the risk of
losing free money.
The fastest and
easiest way to complete the FAFSA is
to fill it out online at
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The student and his or her parents
should first obtain a personal
identification number at
www.pin.ed.gov.
The online FAFSA will enable
all required signatures to be made
electronically and will shorten the
processing time by about three weeks.
Paper versions of the FAFSA
can be obtained from high school
counselors, school financial aid
offices, public libraries or by
calling 1.800.4.FED.AID.
